Evaluations

​     A neuropsychological evaluation is an assessment that examines how an individual’s brain is functioning and this indirectly yields information about the structural and functional integrity of the brain. The neuropsychological evaluation involves a detailed clinical interview regarding your developmental, medical, educational, occupational and family history. This also includes your psychological history and any potential substance use or legal history. If needed, collateral interviews of family members, coworkers, or attorneys may be conducted and these are done only after you have provided written consent for these to take place. This is followed by the administration of a battery of neuropsychological tests specific to the referral question. These tests typically are paper and pencil type tests and are administered one-on-one with me. The evaluation also includes behavioral observations and a review of any pertinent records such as medical or school records. Once the tests are scored and interpreted, a detailed neuropsychological report is generated which includes a description of test results, diagnoses, and possible treatment recommendations.
